SENIOR YOUTH

"I said, 'I'm too young to be of service.' then God said 'Nonsense. I will send you to speak to the world.'" ~Jeremiah 1:4-6~

for teens in grade 8-12. a place to belong. a place to hang out. a place to learn that you are loved and you are not alone.

formation. "God will form you." (Romans 12:2) sundays during the 9.30am service. we gather to tell the stories of the Bible (1 yr in New Testament & 1 yr in Old Testament). formation is designed to guide young people through the Bible and educate them about the Christian faith. at the end of this the youth are welcomed into full membership of the church. designed for youth gr 8-9 (but all youth are welcome).

wednesday night in the art space. "God applauds a humble and servant heart above all else." (Psalm 51:10). every wednesday night we gather for an informal time to chat in our art space about issues we are facing. centered around seeing God as an active part of our lives. honest chat, real problems, plus food and coffee. sit down, relax, have a drink, share and grow. designed for youth in grade 10 and up

friday night. "a cheerful heart is good medicine." (Proverbs 17:22). every week it's a new adventure. so many things going on it is hard to put 'em all down: games, movies, weekend retreats, helping aid agencies, concerts...etc. rarely a dull moment...come and check it out. some nights are marked 10+ and that means they are only for youth in grade 10 and up.

mission. it is hard to say that we have only one mission. for the lonely our mission is to bring comfort and care. for the wounded our mission is to bring healing and compassion. for the neglected and overlooked our mission is to bring a listening ear. for the tired our mission is to bring rest. for the bored and frustrated our mission is to bring excitement and options. for the spiritually hungry our mission is to honour their quest. it is not our mission to make clones. it is not our mission to make loud kids quiet or rowdy kids behave. our mission is to honour the journey of each teenager that comes through our doors. in all its pimply, voice-cracking, hormone-driven, half-adult half-child glory. sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail. our mission? youth.

"let no one look down on you because you are young but be an example to others." ~1 Tim 4:12~
